They both came the next day and brought their two children. During our conversation, they shared their story with us. The family came to the United States from Iraq six months ago as refugees. They accepted Jesus as their Savior while they were in a refugee camp in Jordan. Bassem and Nora explained that they were disappointed that no one had helped to take care of them when they first arrived in the United States and that they have been very homesick since they arrived. After a week of visiting at parks and the mall, we have become good friends. Nora has become more open to Mariam and is sharing prayer request with her. Bassem is sharing prayer requests as well. We took Nora and the kids to a worship service at Redeemer Lutheran Church, and she took Communion with us. Please pray that God strengthens this relationship and helps us to help them as they acclimate to a new home.
