Pastor Amer previously served in outreach to Muslim refugees in Lansing for seven years. During that time, he ministered to many ethnic groups including Afghans, Sudanese, Indians, Pakistanis, Iraqis and others. Pastor Amer helped resettle refugees by establishing ESL classes, driving classes, family counseling, housing and job searches, and Bible Study classes. About 70 people were baptized through that ministry, including many of the “Lost boys of Sudan.” Most recently, Amer has brought the Gospel to Hindus and Muslim people from Nepal, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. Pastor Amer is visiting congregations throughout the Michigan District to share the joys of the baptisms of former Muslims, which have happened in 2016, as well as the joys of Muslim converts now serving as POBLO missionaries in Michigan.
