First of all I would like to thank the Lord for you as faithful partners on behalf of the entire ministry team and the executive board of directors of POBLO International Ministries. Whatever we are, where we are today is all due to God’s grace and your partnership!
New Mission Field
•St. Louis, MO: By His grace, St. Louis Missouri has started with Rev. Duane Maas as the Lead. A male and female missionary from Egypt originally, the 1st baptism of a Muslim is scheduled for December 6, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Arnold Missouri.
•Houston, TX: By God’s grace we are very close to starting in Houston Texas. Houston is the most under reached city in the U.S. as far as Muslim outreach is concerned. There are more than 300,000 Arab families and the total Muslim population is around 650,000.
•Twin Cities - St. Paul & Minneapolis, MN: By God’s grace this will be the third new mission field opening up soon, a very sizable Muslim population calls the Twin Cities home. The prospective missionary is a former Muslim and is on fire to reach the Muslims in the area. He has already lead several to Christ
Looking at year 2015:
We thank our Lord Jesus Christ for the power, strength and trust we received from our partners in missions. We are proud of having you as our partners; you are enabling POBLO in transforming lives, bringing people to the body of Christ; who never had the opportunity to hear the Gospel.
Baptisms continued to happen throughout the year all by His grace, very especially the most recent baptism of an Iraqi formerly Muslim girl that happened at St. John, Rochester, Michigan. She holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature from a university in the U.S.
We also thank the Lord for another lady, formerly Muslim, being baptized in December, in Missouri; a Sudanese Muslim getting baptized in Nebraska and for several Muslims in Bible classes all over our ministry location.
International Friendship Centers: IFC’s continue to open all over the U.S. We currently have 15 in place. This is the best way a congregation can reach its neighbors in partnership with POBLO. We train, educate, equip volunteers and they take the ownership of the ministry.
POBLO’s Strategic Plan for 2025 our goal is to have 500 IFC’s throughout the country, 100 Missionaries in place and 10,000 Volunteers.
Unequally Yoked: Approximately 10,000 Christian girls marry Muslim men every year in America. The sole purpose of marrying Christian girls is to convert them to Islam, and become citizens of the United States. The majority of these girls know very little if anything about Islam. Families come under great stress and pressure throughout this. Once the men naturalize as citizens, it is common for them to divorce the girl and go back to their countries to then marry their cousins and bring them over to the United States. Many girls are suffering in this relationship and so are their families. The Unequally Yoked project is helping tens of thousands who are going through this whole ordeal.
More than a Backpack: This is another arm of POBLO where we help and assist in the resettlement process of new Americans. Most of them land with almost nothing and need all kinds of help. POBLO is there to help and assist in making this process a little easier for them. This gives POBLO the opportunity to build relationship with them and then in turn share the gospel message.
Through this letter I would like to appeal to all POBLO partners to go an extra mile with your mission during the Advent Season. As a congregation, an individual, a foundation, a school or a LWML group, please consider supporting POBLO as your mission for the year end giving, enabling us to reach more people with the gospel message and start new mission fields all across America, while also helping churches to start International Friendship Centers all over the country. Help us to save souls for Christ!
Thank you so much for your consideration and your continued faithful support. We here at POBLO know that we can count on you as partners. The Lords says in Malachi 3:10 “Test me says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”
Merry Christmas and blessings in the New Year from POBLO International!
